When the magistrates dismissed the summons against a young cyclist at Bristol Police Court yesterday, his mother, who appeared for him declared: “He is the first of my children to get into trouble. I will give him a hiding when I get home.” Chairman, Mr JP Brazil said: “No, don’t do that.” “Yes I shall,” replied the mother.
