Saving the office party
By Patrick Barnham

An Aberdeen funnyman plans to bring the infamous office party home this Christmas.
Comedian and actor Kenny Luke spent years dishing out the mirth and mayhem at glittering events and is determined the fun must go on.
“Socialising as we know it is out of the window and not even that if you’re not from the same household,” said Kenny “so I want to help spread some virtual Christmas cheer.
“I can’t promise stationery cupboard canoodles, photocopier jockeying or dodgy secret Santas but we can have a damn good try.
“Seriously though, so many people from all walks of life are isolated just now which means that new ways to socialise and have fun are so important.”
Kenny will team up with businesses to host online events to bring colleagues together, celebrate and look forward to whatever the new normal new year has in store.
Companies already use online tools like Zoom to hold virtual meetings and Kenny is now on-hand to get the party started and more importantly keep it going.
Chief Operating Officer of Grampian Housing Association Craig Stirrat welcomed the news.
He said: “The festive period is always a special time for colleagues at Grampian Housing Association. It’s an opportunity for everyone to get together socially, relax and enjoy themselves. We hold staff quizzes, raffles, provide musical entertainment, have Christmas lunches and volunteer to help out local charities.
“We will miss this, so now more than ever, to keep up morale and engender a positive feeling virtual celebrations will have to be the norm.”
Kenny let slip that he has some of his showbiz pals in the wings to make an appearance but remains tight-lipped about their identities.
